The irksome, slurvish, and interrupting golden-haired girl makes her return to Underland! Alice is back, and we have to say, she’s grown even more as a character. The master of macabre, Tim Burton, helms the producer’s chair while, James Bobin sits on the Director’s throne. With Burton’s classic cast of weird, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter in tow, Alice Through The Looking Glass is bound to take you out of this world!

Mia Wasikowska and Anne Hathaway reprise their roles as the overly curious Alice Kingsleigh and the lovely White Queen, respectively. Let’s take a turn for the weird, and shine the spotlight on Alice Through The Looking Glass!

It’s About Time...Really, It Is

The Mad Hatter has fallen extremely ill and the other folks of Underland have no idea what to do, except for one thing - summon Alice Kingsleigh (Wasikowska). Facing personal troubles in her own world, Alice travels back to Underland in hopes of saving his top-hatted friend, and it is no easy task. The adventurous heroine must go back in time to find the cure for her dying friend!

That’s exactly the problem Hatter. *sniff

It’s a perilous journey that will uncover the secrets and origins of, not only The Mad Hatter (Depp), but also The White Queen (Hathaway) and her evil sister The Red Queen (Bonham Carter), who hopes to stop Alice for her own greedy endeavors.

A Whimsical World

Much like the first movie, Alice Through The Looking Glass is a dazzling display of CGI and environmental concept! It’s like walking into a dream sequence that will make you want to sleep as long as you like. Mia Wasikowska’s Alice has developed in a mature manner, but she still has that colorful wonder that symbolizes the child in every adult.

From Princess Diaries to The fairest beauty in Underland.

Other cast members such as our ultimate crush, Anne Hathaway, still gives us that zingy feeling whenever we see her as the White Queen. Also, a new addition in Sacha Baron Cohen, who plays the personification of Time, is a must-see as well!

“Off with their heads!!” You know you read that in her voice.

The Verdict

All in all, we loved the cinematography and moral concept of the film (which we will not reveal, because it’s a spoiler!). Alice Through The Looking Glass takes a deeper look into the origins of its characters without making a mess. We salute this film with 4 and a half out of 5 movie stars!
