For Globe Community’s first birthday, we wanted to celebrate it in a wonderful way. So we thought, what could be more wonderful than coming together and helping our fellowmen?
A number of Community members and company employees, in collaboration with Gawad Kalinga, helped build a real neighborhood for underprivileged communities in Payatas, Quezon City. It was the perfect way to give meaning to this occasion, while supporting Project Wonderful—the company’s nation-building advocacy.
Globe Community extends its helpfulness and camaraderie to offline and real communities like the GK Cox-Rivero Village. Through this, we were able to show that members and employees are truly one with Globe in creating a wonderful world, not just online but in real life, as well.
Despite the activity being physically demanding, attendees said that it was still fun, because they were among friends, and because they knew they were creating a wonderful world. It was a concrete way for them to give back and help another community.
After the home-building activity, attendees participated in an intimate discussion of the day’s value to the community. Participants were also asked how they felt during the building proper. Afterwards, the GK Community residents prepared lunch as a way of saying thank you.
It was a year ago that we Globe Community opened its online doors with the vision of empowering customers to help each other while forming genuine relationships with Globe Community. One year later, it’s grown into a thriving space of over 20,000 members, coming together to assist each other on general concerns about Globe products and services—a first and the only one of its kind in the country.
We thank you, Community members, for a wonderful first year. We hope that you continue to grow with us as we face more adventures in the future!
