Samsung unveiled the Note 4 with a sleek metallic design, far from the plastic covers we're used to seeing from the tech giant.
Here's what you need to know about the new Samsung Note 4:
The Samsung Note 4 followed the Galaxy Alpha, adding metallic elements to the whole design. The Note 4 is very similar to its predecessor, the Note 3, in terms of the general shape and dimensions. The chamfered edges of the metal frame gives it a nice grip thanks to its matte texture. The back has the same arrangement of the camera, flash, and heart rate montor found on the S5. Pop the back and you'll see the standard removable battery, microSD card, and micro SIM slot.
The Note 4 will come in four colors - Charcoal Black, Frost White, Bronze Gold, and Blossom Pink.
Note 4 runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat).
It has a vivid Quad HD Super AMOLED touchscreen with 2560 x 1440 resolution, that has a pixel density of 515 ppi at 5.7 inches.
The Note 4 runs on a cutting edge Snapdragon 805/Exynos 5 Octa processor which will work great for gamers out there.
It comes with 3GB of RAM plus 32GB of built-in memory. It also has a microSD card slot for adding memory up to 64GB.
There's a couple of stand out hardware features with the Note 4, such as the noise cancelling microphone setup, the UV sensor, and fast charging battery. It uses three microphones to remove ambient noise when recording. The UV sensor can be used to detect radiation levels.
The most fascinating new feature could well be the fast charging technology which was said to let you fill up half the capacity of the Note 4 in just 30 minutes, and that charging takes 30% less time than usual.
An optical image stabilization for the Note 4 is a first for Samsung devices. It packs a 16MP sensor with OIS, that will allow you to take sharper photos, less noise, and better videos. The front facing camera has a 3.7MP sensor (up from 2.1MP on the Note 3). The Wide Selfie feature lets you do a panorama shot that is 120 degrees wide. You can simply tap on the heart rate monitor on the back to take a selfie.
There's a number of productivity and multitasking features on the Note 4, such as Smart Select from the new Air Command menu. Another one is Snap Mode which lets you photograph written text and have the text converted into an editable S Note.
