Last year was a good year for movie goers. From X-Men: Days of Future Past and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, to Disney’s Maleficent – everything kept us amused.

This 2015? It’s an even more massive year for us film buffs, with plenty of great new Hollywood movies, sequels, and superhero films being lined up! There’s the Ant-Man, the Avengers, the second part of Mockingjay, and a few more!

Couldn't end this day without sharing my list of the top must-see films of 2015. You may use this as your simple guide.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Release Date: May 1, 2015

Surely the no. 1 must-see movie of 2015! If you’re a Marvel fan (like me), then there’s no reason to miss the sequel to The Avengers (2012).

The powerful lineup of actors will be maintained, despite the rumors about contract and compensation last year. So yes, we can still see Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner on the big screen when the much-awaited superhero film opens May 1.

Check out the first Avengers: Age of Ultron’s trailer here for a peek on what to expect. While below is the new trailer that was released just a couple of days ago. This will get you more excited, I’m sure!

Mission: Impossible 5

Release Date: December 25, 2015

Agent Ethan Hunt, prepare for round 5!

Yep, Tom Cruise is back in the fifth installment to the “Mission: Impossible” movie franchise. I’m quite expecting some more underwater action (and daring stunts, too), as several news circulated days ago, saying that Cruise was seen participating in a scuba diving course. Who’s excited for this? Well, I am.

We'll all just have to wait a little longer though, as this action spy film will open in theaters Christmas day this year.

Release Date: July 17, 2015

This year is no doubt the year of Marvel fans. That’s because aside from The Avengers: Age of Ultron, the highly-anticipated Ant-Man (starring Paul Rudd) is also scheduled for release this 2015!

You think this can top last year's Marvel hit, Guardians of the Galaxy? Let’s just see when the superhero film opens in cinemas on July 17. I can’t wait!

Here’s the official trailer:

Release Date: May 22, 2015

If you’re interested in sci-fi with a little adventure, Disney has the answer. This Summer, brace yourself as we travel to another world and discover the secrets and surprises inside Tomorrowland.

Release Date: July 10, 2015

Ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-na-na. Ba-ba-ba, ba-ba-na-na Banana-a-a!

Our cute yellow friends from Despicable Me are back! But this time, with their own movie! Catch Stuart, Kevin and Bob as they go aboard again on a new journey! Minions will hit the cinemas on July 10.

Here’s the trailer (prepare to laugh):

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens

Release Date: December 18, 2015

The wait is finally over, Star Wars buffs!

After a good thirty years, the saga continues with its seventh installment. I'm pretty much excited on how this will go. For sure there will be a lot of improvements, especially when it comes to special effects.

Furious 7

Release Date: April 3, 2015

The seventh installment of the Fast & Furious film series is also set to hit the screens this year. And fans old and new are revving up their engines for another wild ride.

Can’t wait to watch how this film will go with Walker’s brothers, Caleb and Cody, being used as his stand-ins. Action-packed trailer below!

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2

Release Date: November 20, 2015

One of the movies that shouldn't be missing in your must-watch list is The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. This is the final book in the Hunger Games trilogy, so I’m kinda excited on how the story will end. Who do you think Katniss will end up with: Peeta or Gale?

Release Date: March 13, 2015

Capping off our list is a film to tug at the hearts of children and children-at-heart: Disney’s live-action version of the classic fairy tale, Cinderella.

The film, which is scheduled to be released in March, stars Downton Abbey's Lily James as Ella and Richard Madden as The Prince. I wonder if this will be better than last year’s Maleficent (also from Disney).

So there you go! My top 9 must-see movies of 2015!
