Those eager to get their hands on the AirPods, the new Bluetooth wireless earphones from Apple, will have to wait a little longer. The Cupertino company stated in an interview they need “a little more time” delivering the said earphones to the public market.
Perhaps the company has run into some production issues, or it requires more time polishing what was supposed to serve as a companion device to the iPhone 7. In any case, the reason for the delay was not disclosed.
Launching the AirPods should’ve been a significant milestone for Apple after it made the “courageous” decision to remove the 3.5 mm headphone jack from the iPhone.
The AirPods received generally positive feedback from the tech community when it was announced. While Apple revealed the wireless earphones will work with Android devices, it has certain features reserved for when you’re using an iPhone. Embedded inside is Apple’s brand new W1 chip which promises enhanced battery life and improved sound quality, even on a wireless connection.
How do you feel about this update? Are you planning the purchase the AirPods once it becomes available?
