Moving on with your concern.
It's true that the new system does not currently allow assignment of a number to an account. It is currently being assigned randomly by the system.
Please don't blame yourself. It may be partly the sales specialist fault if she failed to mention this to you before the account has been opened.
As to the information provided to you by the CSR, please verify this with any Globe Store or the Greenbelt 4 Globe Store. I for one do not believe every word the hotline provide me.
I would like to understand why do you think that your new line is a waste of time and a waste of money.
Anyway, you may discuss your concerns fully with any after Sales Specialist in the the Globe Store.
I hope Greenbelt Store can do something to salvage this problem.

Exactly 5 days today since I got my line, the sim is now active but the number disappoints me so.
I called the hotline and asked when I could have my number changed.
I was told that number modification will be allowed on or after July 15 - which is a month from now.
What will I even do with this line for a month?! I cant give out the number, obviously because I intend to change it.
This would not have happened if I was allowed in the first place to choose the number that I prefer.
Not only will I have to pay them for the change of number, Globe is also telling me to wait that long.
If this problem will not be resolved until next week, I will cut this line immediately rather than waste both time and money.
Sorry to hear but based on your post, below items shows Globe did their part.
1. You were informed that the number are system generated unlike before.
2. You can changed your current number to your preferred one.
Hope you still can resolve this :smileyhappy. Maybe ask to waived your first bill
