    Postpaid Number Preference and Dilemma

    enitsirhc

I have been with Globe postpaid for as long as I can remember and it has been my "thing" to get a line and choose a number to my liking.

Yesterday, June 9, I went to Globe Greenbelt to get a sim only line for my nth line. I was courteously assisted by a certain Miss Bibay. However, when I was about to pay and was requesting for a certain number, I was informed that they could no longer accommodate such request because of their new system and that all postpaid numbers were system generated unlike before.

I was even told that the activation will take 3 days and that for me to know my number, I have to wait for my sim to become active.

The only fault I made was to go ahead with my application. I regret having done so.

I made a call this morning to Globe hotline thinking that since my new sim remains inactive, there might be a chance that the number I prefer (which is actually a regular number and remains available as of writing) will be the one assigned to me hence, relieving me of a Php 550 charge for change of number.

The csr I spoke with said that it's not possible at all and the only way I can get my preferred number is to wait for my line to become active, wait for at least one billing cycle and then request for a change of number which I will have to shelve out another Php 550 for.

Whatever happened to Globe Telecom?! Whatever happened to making things possible for your subscribers?!

It is now becoming apparent to me that my new line is nothing but a waste of time and a waste of money.

I will be more than happy to surrender my sim, get a refund and just get another line from another telco than wait and waste both time and money.

          Hello, enitsirhc.

Welcome to the Globe Community. I am glad you have come to share your Globe life with us.

Before you proceed reading my reply, you may need to note of the following:

I don't represent Globe Telecom or any of its Third Party Vendors in any of my replies.

It is my personal belief that we are all created therefore we are all creatures here.

If you believe otherwise, you may let me know.

          Moving on with your concern.

It's true that the new system does not currently allow assignment of a number to an account.  It is currently being assigned randomly by the system.

Please don't blame yourself. It may be partly the sales specialist fault if she failed to mention this to you before the account has been opened.

As to the information provided to you by the CSR, please verify this with any Globe Store or the Greenbelt 4 Globe Store.  I for one do not believe every word the hotline provide me.

I would like to understand why do you think that your new line is a waste of time and a waste of money.

Anyway, you may discuss your concerns fully with any after Sales Specialist in the the Globe Store.

I hope Greenbelt Store can do something to salvage this problem.

          Have a nice day.

Exactly 5 days today since I got my line, the sim is now active but the number disappoints me so.

I called the hotline and asked when I could have my number changed.

I was told that number modification will be allowed on or after July 15 - which is a month from now.

What will I even do with this line for a month?! I cant give out the number, obviously because I intend to change it.

This would not have happened if I was allowed in the first place to choose the number that I prefer.

Not only will I have to pay them for the change of number, Globe is also telling me to wait that long.

If this problem will not be resolved until next week, I will cut this line immediately rather than waste both time and money.

                Hi enitsirhc,

Sorry to hear but based on your post, below items shows Globe did their part.

                1. You were informed that the number are system generated unlike before.

                2. You can changed your current number to your preferred one.

Hope you still can resolve this :smileyhappy. Maybe ask to waived your first bill
