@gnsy i haven't found my warranty card to check however most smartphone/cellphone manufacturers does not cover warranty on LCD. You can check with Samsung PH to make sure. if not covered then you need to pay for the replacement.
The warranty covers equipment defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for the period commencing upon the date of purchase by the first consumer purchaser and continuing for the following specified period of time after that date and in the case of the S4, 1 year.

(c) defects or damage resulting from excessive force or use of a metallic object when pressing on a touch screen;
(d) equipment that has the serial number or the enhancement data code removed, defaced, damaged, altered or made illegible;

(i) defects or damage resulting from cellular signal reception or transmission, or viruses or other software problems introduced into the Product;
To answer your question and from the cause which you think is due to your storage of the unit inside your pants pocket (improper storage)... No it would not be covered.
the simple answer is NO.
Negligence is not part of the Warranty. Warranty for LCD covers only for parts malfunction and craftsmanship like dead pixel, leak, crack/scratches from out of the box.
