When i'm using my iphone 5 and activating LTE on an area with no LTE, the phone uses 3G instead, then suddenly drops to Edge. But i never experience going on an HSDPA connection. any thoughts on this?
Just because you are in an area stated to have LTE doesn't mean you'll pickup the signal straight out. But if you have never really experienced LTE at all and always end up getting an EDGE connection, try this:
Go to SETTINGS -> CARRIER -> On Network Selection, switch "Automatic" to OFF and manually select GLOBE as your carrier. After you've done this, reboot your phone (turn off your device and turn it on again).
More often than not, you'll pickup 3G and LTE. But note that there are still a few areas where you will pickup the EDGE signal... but that's normal. Globe's network overhaul is still on-going. Cheers!
On iOS, whether your iPhone is connected to 3G or HSPA network, it will still display '3G' on the status bar. So the assumption that your iPhone does not connect to HSPA network because you only see '3G' is wrong. :-)
Thanks for this! Will try it soon.
