The first thing that I noticed with this gadget is the cuteness of design (closer to Lumia devices) with display of 3-inches. The matte shell of this device feels nice and a bit soft to touch.

The front of the Asha 501 has the 3-inch capacitive touchscreen display. Below the display you will notice a single button which is the back button/Home Key. On the top you will see the microUSB port and the headphones jack. Going to the right side of the device, there are volume button and lock/unlock key in the middle. There is no dedicated physical camera key with this device and in order to change Sim cards you will need to take out the back cover which is hard to remove in my experienced so be careful when removing the back cover.

The interface of the new Asha software platform 1.0 is really simple. Swipe right or left on the home screen to unlock the Asha 501 and have access to the application available on the phone. Once you swipe again you can see your recently used apps. If you are using an application and you want to exit it, you can use the back button until the app closes or you can just swipe left or right and you will be back at the application listing page. The Battery life of Asha 501 is really good and may last up to 2 days.
