How to be ready for the iOS 7?

      Hello Community!

iOS 7 is almost here! I know, I know, you’re all excited (who wouldn’t be?). So, are you ready for the new update? Oh wait, a better question would be, is your device ready?

Let’s make sure that your transition will be a smooth one. Follow these 3 easy steps to ensure 100% installation of your iOS 7 to your device.

      Check Device Compatibility

Apple understands that there will be a lot of questions on which devices are compatible to the new system. That is why; they released this list of devices that are compatible with the new OS.

The iOS 7 can only cater to a certain selection. For iPhones, these are the iPhone 4, 4s, and 5. Come Friday, it will also be available for iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s. For iPads, the devices that are iOS 7 compatible are iPads 2, 3, 4, and iPad mini. For iPod touch, the fifth generation of this device is iOS 7 upgradeable.

Deletion and updating of your apps

A new OS deserves a fresh start. How could you do that? By deleting apps that you are no longer using and updating apps that needs to be up to date.  Cleaning your device is as simple as tapping and holding an app icon until it starts moving, then tap on the X icon to delete. Apps can be downloaded from the App store, if ever there’s a need for them again.

For updating, simply launch the App Store and check that the remaining apps if they are up-to-date. After all, with iOS 7, app updates will automatically be downloaded; no more waiting for that lengthy list of apps to be updated. Trust me; doing this step will be beneficial during your transition.

      Back it up

Before upgrading to iOS 7, be sure to back up your device(s). You don’t want to lose any files when you transition your device to the new OS, thus, better ensure that you back everything up. At least, when something goes wrong, you are assured that you have your files and settings safe and sound, ready to be restored whenever needed. iTunes can be one way of backing it up or you could let iCloud do it for you.

Now that you already know the things to do before downloading the much-awaited iOS7, the next step is to? Right! Download the new OS! To do that, simply open your iTunes then click the “Check for Update” button, and that’s it!
