Over the last week the connection here in Maragondon and Ternate has become on/off, and has now stopped completely. This has been confirmed by friends in the area using postpaid/prepaid and a range of different modems/phones/devices. We can all connect and receive a full signal...but cannot browse. Before I was obtaining the same H+ signal and average speed was 3-5Mbps. We are using different cell sites as we are many kilometres apart...same problem.
Is there maintenance on the network in this area?
None of us are happy paying for an unlimited internet connection that does not work. Thanks.
hello there @kevo888 .. im from maragondon also.. Mabacao to be exact and di naman ako nakakaranas ng ganito.. nawawala lang siya in a few minutes pero di ko madalas na maranasan yan..same as well kapag nasa maragondon ako..
ok..after reading your post i took a closer look at my modem settings. It was set to only receive signal on the 2100Mhz setting. I switched it to receive signal on all bands...800Mhz, 900Mhz etc...and it now works.
After doing some research - here are the frequencies used by Globe -
3G Frequency Band W-CDMA (UMTS) - 850Mhz/2100 MHz
UMTS/3G 1900(uplink)/2100(downlink) (Dual Band)
4G (live LTE, WiMAX, HSPA+) - 4G Globe HSPA+ WiMAX 1800Mh
So obviously, a modem set to 2100Mhz only would not work.
Im not sure why my friends are experiencing problems though.
Ano bang settings ng mga friends mo? Sa cellphone ba sila nagkakaproblema?
