I answered a similar query in http://community.globe.com.ph/t5/Globe-Postpaid/iPhone/m-p/17260#M3226 and http://community.globe.com.ph/t5/Bundles-Plans-and-Rates/globe-display-of-network/td-p/18182#.UuROOvuwpmA.
Apparantly you could also encounter [email protected] as carrier name having the same credentials and it may get stuck with the iphone unless you do any of the following suggested after the read:
Your friend must have tapped the GLOBE cellsite instead of the Globe cellsite that you tapped upon registration of your iphones in your respective locations. Having the same network credentials, the carrier name cannot be easily changed ordinariky being an IOS issue.
You could do either of 3 things:
1. Do an IOS restore and hope you are in a cellsite which would reflect GLOBE instead of Globe;
2. Jailbreak your iphone and search for a software to change carrier name or;
3. Without jailbreaking, download the Mac or Windows version of CarrierEditor and name your carrier whatever you want to name it.
Hope this helps.
