It will be and should always be because, Postpaid have gadgets, activation, system, admin and etc.
that should not be true
1. Postpaid have gadgets
in exchange for your gadgets they put you in a lock up so they could earn from you for 2 years
if you get the gadget, it would lessen the Peso Value (PV) that you could use monthly (for calls and texts)t
my comparison was Plan 499 (without gadget) with P900 peso value vs a prepaid with P300 load (also P300 peso value)
They also activate prepaid cards for you to be able to use it.. in reality you are also paying more for the postpaid line (inital deposit of postpaid vs. just buying prepaid sim)
3. system & admin
Prepaid users also need systems and admins... they could also call globe hotlines to ask about their accounts.
the only thing postpaid subs have that prepaid subs don't are the monthly statements
My point is Globe is saying that they are the leader in Postpaid:
they are always promoting new phones to entice new people to get a postpaid line
they want customers to commit their next 2 years (or more) with Globe
then they screw their subs
their postpaid subs are not getting the better deal (ex.Sun Cellular)
and they don't want loyal Postpaid subs to see it.. (you can't access the Go Sakto Calculator until you have a prepaid sim)
Easy, because Globe does not need to take care of their Postpaid users since most of them are already "locked-in" to Globe. The only thing Globe needs to do to the Postpaid is offer a better recontracting/new account reward so that they may attract new subs or retain existing subs.
Battle for Prepaid users is a different thing because, prepaid sim cards can easily be disposed as it has no lock-in, as soon as the sim has no load, one may easily switch to a new network. They should constantly offer competitive promos to maintain/improve their prepaid user base.
that's the point,
for every new postpaid sub they could sign = around 2 years of revenue
for every new prepaid sub they could sign = unknown
The only thing Globe needs to do to the Postpaid is offer a better recontracting/new account reward so that they may attract new subs or retain existing subs.
Pano siya magiging better kung masmaganda pa ang deals of being unlocked as prepaid than locked for 2 years sa postpaid?
for example: if i'm switching to globe, masmaganda ba for globe if i get a prepaid or i get a postpaid?
compared to the Other networks (Globe & Sun) baliktad ang strategy ni Globe...
but the thing thats making me pissed the most is Globe not letting you know about the cheaper plans on prepaid... click on the gosakto site and the first thing that they ask is your prepaid number, di nila pinapakita how sulit it is compared sa postpaid...
if nakita ko ng maaga yung prepaid promos ng globe di na sana ako nagpatali ng for a postpaid plan before
if only you can retain your number with you even if you switch networks.. haaay
I agree that some promos are definitely cheaper on prepaid than postpaid.
Let's face reality...
- All major mobile telcos in the Philippines earn more through prepaid subs than postpaid.
- Prepaid subs would have to undergo the inconvenience of subscribing or loading their sims from time to time.
- Prepaid subs do not have the luxury of a hard copy to check their usage of a service.
- Prepaid subs run the risk of unnoticed system glitches which would be left unnoticed since there is no Statement of Account to check with.
- There is a much greater inconvenience for a prepaid subs when questioning charges in the absence of documentation.
- Prepaid subs are less likely to be conscious of their usage.
Despite the claim of telcos of spending for network expansion and operations, they remain one of the most profitable companies in the Philippines... they have to show some gratitude to the very subscribers propping them up... the subscribers using prepaid services.
HI! Some plan re-lock in gives you bill rebates.
