what to do if the postpaid plan owner dies?

I just want to know what to do & how about the smartphone included in the plan.

The normal thing is to go after the estate of the deceased but from what I know, the account is terminated and treated like a delinquent account and is written off if the heirs do not settle and/or if the amount is negligible and not worth going after specially by Globe's collection agents.

Many however continue with the account even if it is not under their names and pay the dues diligently and some even transfer the plan to someone else by presenting a copy of the death certificate and an extra judicial partition among heirs or just have the plan terminated by settling the dues outstanding.

The smartphone included in the plan is seldom surrendered and Globe would rather have a cash settlement rather than having the unit taken back.
