Data Capping for Unlimited Data Plan

I am on plan 1799 with unlimited data usage. However, oftentimes I received a message from Globe saying I have reach the max data usage of 2GB, hence, shifting my coverage to 2G which is simply no internet connection. My question is how come it was offered as UNLIMITED when there is actually a LIMIT of 2GB. Downgrading to 2G was never an option and this is not mentioned in any Globe flyer or ads.

Moreover, with the new plan now GOSURF999, the capping is now clearly stated as 5GB. That's good! No false advertisement. But isnt unfair to those who got the former offer of UNLIMITED data plan but only has 2GB capping? While new ones are enjoying 5 GB for the same fee of 999?
