Loyalty Program: Does it really exists?

    jaysoncadorna

Tumawag ako sa hotline and inquired for recontracting. I asked for several handset for plan 1799 specifically iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and after comparing it to the plan being offered to new subscriber, I just found out na pareho lang pala (handset + cashout). So ano yung DIFFERENCE ng program dun sa regular plan na inooffer? Even bill rebates is not available. Kung wala naman, the LOYALTY PROGRAM doesn't serve its purpose that is to give VALUE to loyal customers. Meron ba talagang Loyalty o paasa lang talaga?

For new subscribers they call it "incentive promo"... for recontracting subscribers they call it "loyalty".

Both ways they are one and the same and the cost of the phone has already been integrated in the plans. If we do not take advantage of it then we lose and value of our plan is lessened. It's just as simple as that.

In reality, "Loyalty" is just a marketing term to create an impression that we are getting more than what we are paying for. The truth is Globe's (or for that matter all telcos) cost of the unit plus comfortable profit margins are already included in those "promos".

Then I guess its misleading...kung pareho lang pala. Loyalty program is just a hoax and doesn't really exists at all. Pinapaniwala lang ang loyal subscribers na importante sila pero ang totoo hindi talaga.

Aren't they all the same? Mention a "Loyalty" program which would not be patterned that way.

Better something than nothing (PLDT, water utilities, Skycable and other "service" companies do not have such a program).

The world of business is just really a selling of perception.

There's nothing at all...Binago lang yung tawag pero wala pa rin... Even if PLDT or Smart in this case doesn't have "loyalty" program (kung wala man) they're still offering something for recontracting so paano nasabi na may pinagkaiba ang so called "loyalty" program ng Globe. Sana hindi na lang nag offer para di na umasa.

Pero kung ganito ang kalakaran sa business/marketing world in general as what you've mentioned, hindi ba tama na TAYO as a consumer should demand at least what we deserve.

Consumers shouldn't be the hostage of false advertisement.

That's the reason why we have to understand how things work. We deserve what we pay for in an acceptable manner. The perks are just a play of our emotion. Sadly, so many people succumb to it and they feel good about it not knowing that it is really what they are supposed to be paying for.

We as consumers either learn how to accept things by getting our money's worth or think of how we could have one over them if we want to get MORE than our money's worth. Ika nga... utak utakan lang yan

Hi jaysoncadorna! When recontracting, there's not much of a difference in terms of pricing of handsets, but there are handsets that are offered for free. With the new plan called myLIFESTYLE Plan, you can also get rebates again. Coming this February. And of course, you get to keep your number and any rewards points that you've earned during your subscription.

Hi GlennO, so there's no difference at all, right? What Globe can only offer to loyal subscribers is to retain their mobile number and not asking for documentary requirements when recontracting, that's all. Is it safe to conclude that there's no Loyalty Program ever exists as there is no much to offer and no added value being given. It is just an illusion to lure the customers to stay. By the way, bill rebate is still not yet available.

There are actually some "exclusive" plans which may be offered to "special" customers which again is a play of the things they used to offer. Those who have terminated their lines would know what I mean . Those offers to retain the subscriber are more attractive plans which I believe should be offered as loyalty.

Hi jaysoncadorna! Please don't confuse loyalty with re-contracting.

Recontracting - new line and re-contracting handset offers are indeed identical, although re-contracting offers are wider in variety (handsets, non-telco such as bill rebates and bundles).

Loyalty - rewarded via My Rewards My Globe points, which is given to re-contracted customers who spend above their plan amount or to the full billed amount of a non-re-contracted sub. These points can be exchanged for a reward or shared/gifted to a friend/relative/etc to avail of a bigger reward.

I don't blame recontracting subscribers for associating RECONTRACTING with LOYALTY as despite the services being rendered (which have much to be desired for) the subscribers still want to stay on... is that not LOYALTY?

Sadly the definition of LOYALTY of Globe is based on USAGE and REVENUE and HOW MUCH MONEY it can derive from the subscriber and NOT on length of subscription and willingness to stay with the network despite the sacrifices of staying with them.
