Android phones require connection to the internet everywhere if possible by connecting with your carrier. Please try to turn off your packet data.
To do that
you can also control data service ... question is how.. answer here
Setting > network setting> mobile network > Packet data.
Make sure it is off
ganon din po yung sakin, kaso sa iphone 4s naman yung phone ko. pero kahit po nakaurn off na yung cellular data at ibinalik ko na ang sa default yung APN, ay ganun parin nababawasan parin ako ng load.

some other phones automatically the GPRS and Data setting of your phone especially with android smartphones.. so make it sure that the GPRS and Data Settings is always disabled.
how to deactivate or disabled GPRS and Data Settings:
Settings > Wireless & Networks > GPRS transfer prefer (disabled or uncheck)
Settings > SIM Management > Data Connection (off)
Just simply tap and drag down the top screen of your SmartPhone and tap the Data Conn icon to turn on and off the Data Connection.
